OF DETROIT RECEIVES SPIRIT OF DETROIT AWARD

Detroit, MI – Diversity focused Governmental Affairs and Community Relations Director Laura Reyes Kopack, J.D., of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Detroit received the Spirit of Detroit award on March 3, 2015, “in recognition of exceptional achievement, outstanding leadership and dedication to improving the quality of life” for Detroit residents by the City Council of Detroit, Michigan.

636 TRAINING CENTER WILL START TO TAKE APPLICATIONS ON JULY 1 FROM 4PM-6PM:

Pipefitter Apprenticeship Application process is opening July 1, 2014 through August 9, 2014.
Applications will be accepted Tuesday evenings from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM and Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM - 12 Noon

  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Must have a valid driver license.
  • Must have high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Must appear in person to complete Application Form at the Pipefitter Local 636
    Training Center in Troy.

UA & ITF INDUSTRY DAY

The UA and ITF have planned an Industry Day during the 2012 Instructor Training Program
being held at the Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan on
Wednesday, August 15, 2012

The program will start at 9:00 a.m. in the lobby of the Morris Lawrence Building of the Washtenaw Community College and will conclude at noon. 

Representatives from the Training Department will be available in the lobby of the
Morris Lawrence Building to conduct tours of the classes for those that are interested.  Local Unions are encouraged to invite their contractors and end users to see the latest techniques in the industry, visit classrooms and workshops, observe the International Apprentice Contest and tour our latest training trailers.  We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to experience our latest training innovations and see why we remain leaders in the field of pipe trades education.
